3 Reasons to Compile Your Bucket List Before You Die!

What is a bucket list?

A bucket list is a list of things one hopes to accomplish before they die…

Essentially, you write up the list, and then you check them off one-by-one as you complete them … I’m a big believer in setting goals. Without goals, you wake up each day without focus. Goals give us something to strive for.

They give us direction … and if you don’t have a bucket list, I’d encourage you to write yours out today.

Here are 3 great reasons to start now…

  1. It makes you look at what you really want: Oftentimes, we wake up each day doing the same old stuff. For many of us, we really don’t know what we want to do. We lack direct and focus. And one of the benefits of creating a bucket list is that it forces us to sit down and map out some of those things we want. Once we know what we want, we can then come up with a plan to get us going in the right direction.
  2. You live a much more satisfying life: When you’re able to pursue your passions, you’re able to enjoy a much more rewarding and satisfying life. You have purpose. You have ambition. You have drive.
  3. Your confidence increases and you continue to strive for more: Once you start slashing things off your bucket list, you start to add new ones. And the more you slash off, and the more you add new ones,  the more your confidence grows. And before you know it, you’ll be achieving some amazing things as your life continues to move forward. You become fearless. You become confident. You’re living life without fear!

So for now — write out your bucket list. That’s the first step. Don’t worry about how you’ll accomplish them … just write them out! And if you haven’t watched my Achieving Your Most Outrageous Goals video, go here and watch it now!

Here’s my bucket list … I’ll continue to update and add to these as time goes on!

  • I love this! I went skydiving for my 35th birthday and it was AWESOME! This is great and something we all should do. Having something to LIVE for makes life absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing – you rock!

  • Thanks for sharing your bucket list. My bucket list is in my head because the original one was written many years ago and it was time for a new one. Lots of things on my bucket list I can’t do, no money, no time. My bucket list now is as I go. I do have a bucket list for business. What I discovered by going to school is that I love art and art should be in the rest of my life as with photography and computer art and those t-shirts! I was a silk screener for 2 years and got hooked on designing and the whole works. There are a lot of things in my life. I became a pilot, transcriber, loan signer, joined a search and rescue organization, have been sewing since I was 3 – joined a quilting organization; went to college taking classes in art, computers, forensics, photography; had a baby, bought a Corvette, house, traveled in Europe, Mexico, and now want to travel in the US. Travel to take pictures, paint, and do computer art. My daughter is a musician and I am her rode. She plays guitar, bass, keyboard, piano, and drums. She writes music and sings. She also records and I get to do the album covers and dub all the albums on my duplicator. I’m all pumped up now. Hope you get more things crossed off on your bucket list.

    Isabelle

    • That’s impressive Isabelle … you’ve already done more things than most people will ever do over the course of their entire life. You ROCK Isabelle.

I’d still encourage you to at least re-write them out. Something about seeing them just puts that ‘extra’ into the atmosphere to make the a reality.

Thanks for taking the time to share — I might have to take a few from yours and add to my bucket list, lol!

  • Hey Cartess,

I’m from Kenya. I recommend the Maasai Mara for your safari. When you do come, hopefully soon, I would be happy to buy you some home grown tea.

Thank you for sharing. I woke up today on this tip that I need to pen down all my plans of things to do. In sum, I have a blog, a Vlog coming soon and a business to grow. Aside from that, I have many exciting adventures to embark on and gifts of my own to share with the world. This was apt!

    Bless

    • Awesome Wangechi. If we make our way there, I will certainly look you up. I bet the tea is good! The key thing is to just start where you’re at and the rest will take care of itself. Thanks for sharing!

  • Take a road trip with my family across the United States. Visit Dominican Republic, Belize, Roatan, Nicaragua and depending on which one we love move to. Learn martial arts. Visit Italy. Fly in a luxury private jet. Own a ranch and Renew my wedding vows to my husband and finally have a honeymoon.
